Yeworkwha (Workeye) Tegegne is a dedicated community leader with a passion for empowering women, supporting children, and advancing community health initiatives. She brings a strong background in education, public service, and nonprofit leadership, with a lifelong commitment to serving others.
Professionally, Yeworkwha served as a public elementary school teacher before transitioning to public service, where she currently works for the City of Allen, Texas. Her career reflects a dedication to education, community engagement, and improving the quality of life for individuals and families.
Yeworkwha has actively served on several nonprofit boards and humanitarian organizations. She has contributed to initiatives that provided essential medical equipment to public hospitals in Ethiopia and currently serves as a Board Member of the Anti-Malaria Association, supporting programs that promote disease prevention and public health. She is also actively involved in charitable efforts that assist vulnerable communities in Ethiopia.
As the Women's Affairs Manager and a member of the Executive Leadership Committee of the Mutual Assistance Association for the Ethiopian Community (MAAEC), Yeworkwha provides leadership in developing programs that empower women, strengthen families, and promote community wellness. She is committed to fostering opportunities for women through advocacy, education, mentorship, and collaboration while advancing initiatives that create healthier, stronger, and more resilient communities.
Through servant leadership, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to community service, Yeworkwha continues to make a meaningful impact within the Ethiopian community and the broader Dallas–Fort Worth area.

የሥራ አስፈጻሚ አመራር ኮሚቴ አባል እና የሴቶች ጉዳይ ኃላፊ
ወ/ሮ የወርቅዋ (ዎርኬዬ) ተገኝ ለሴቶች ማብቃት፣ ለሕፃናት ደህንነት እና ለማህበረሰብ ጤና እድገት በትጋት የምትሰራ የማህበረሰብ መሪ ናት። በትምህርት፣ በሕዝብ አገልግሎት እና በትርፍ አልባ ተቋማት አመራር ዘርፍ የበለጸገ ልምድ ያላት ሲሆን፣ ለሌሎች ማገልገልን የሕይወቷ መርህ አድርጋ ትሰራለች።
በሙያዋ የመጀመሪያ ዘመን በመንግሥት የአንደኛ ደረጃ ትምህርት ቤት መምህር ሆና አገልግላለች። በኋላም በሕዝብ አገልግሎት ዘርፍ በመሰማራት በአሁኑ ጊዜ በአለን ከተማ (City of Allen, Texas) ትሰራለች። የሙያ ልምዷ በትምህርት፣ በማህበረሰብ ተሳትፎ እና በሕዝብ አገልግሎት ላይ የተመሰረተ ነው።
የወርቅዋ በተለያዩ ትርፍ አልባ ድርጅቶች የቦርድ አባል በመሆን ለብዙ ዓመታት አገልግላለች። በኢትዮጵያ ለመንግሥት ሆስፒታሎች የሕክምና መሣሪያዎችን በማቅረብ ለተከናወኑ የሰብዓዊ ድጋፍ ፕሮጀክቶች አስተዋፅኦ አበርክታለች። በአሁኑ ጊዜም በፀረ-ወባ ማህበር (Anti-Malaria Association) የቦርድ አባል በመሆን የህዝብ ጤናን እና የወባ መከላከልን የሚያበረታቱ ፕሮግራሞችን ትደግፋለች። በተጨማሪም በኢትዮጵያ ለተቸገሩ ወገኖች ድጋፍ በሚያደርጉ የበጎ አድራጎት ሥራዎች በንቃት ትሳተፋለች።
የኢትዮጵያውያን የጋራ መረዳጃ ማህበር (MAAEC) የሴቶች ጉዳይ ኃላፊ እና የሥራ አስፈጻሚ አመራር ኮሚቴ አባል በመሆን፣ ሴቶችን የሚያበረታቱ፣ ቤተሰቦችን የሚያጠናክሩ እና የማህበረሰብን ጤናና ደህንነት የሚያሻሽሉ ፕሮግራሞችን በማቀድ፣ በማስተባበር እና በመምራት ታገለግላለች። በተለይም የሴቶች አቅም ግንባታ፣ አመራር ልማት፣ የቤተሰብ ድጋፍ፣ ማማከር (Mentorship) እና የማህበረሰብ ትብብርን በማጠናከር ላይ ትሰራለች።
በታማኝነት፣ በአገልጋይ አመራር (Servant Leadership) እና በማህበረሰብ ልማት ያላት ጠንካራ ቁርጠኝነት በዳላስ–ፎርት ዎርዝ አካባቢ ያለውን የኢትዮጵያውያን ማህበረሰብ ለማጠናከር እና ለማገልገል ከፍተኛ አስተዋፅኦ እያበረከተች ትገኛለች።
